The Perfect Nap

I crawl out of the old window in my sister’s room

And onto the roof over looking the porch

The gray shingles soaking up the sun

Fell hot on my hands and knees

I lay in the crevice of the roof

Letting the warmth envelop me

The wispy white clouds above

Give me shelter from the sun

And the green heads of trees

Are dancing in the breeze

The air is ringing with sounds

The highway traffic zipping past

The neighbor’s dog chasing a stray rabbit

Kids playing games in the yard

And the thud of Dad’s hammer on the other roof above

I couldn’t think of a better place to be

I think to myself

As I close my eyes and sleep.

Running to Seemingly Nowhere

I’m running, running somewhere

I don’t know where I’m going

I don’t know where I’m at

I just know that I’m running

How’d I get on this path?

And how do I get off of it?

And how do I know

That this is where I want to be?

I’m lost, I’m burned out

I can’t run much further

What do I do?

Oh, what do I do?

Someone come help me

I’m starting to fall

Someone come help me

Before I fall too far

What Am I Doing?!

I don’t know a thing

My mind is numb

My thoughts unclean

How do I go back

To where I used to be?

Better yet, How do I get

To where I need to be?

Someone help me

Help me get there quick

‘Cause This Sucks!!!

I saw this video forever ago, but I never posted it, not sure why. It's quite a funny little movie.

The Day Obama Care Died.

I sure hope this works, if not, at least I tried.

My mom sent me this clip and I found it absolutely hilarious. ENJOY!

Respecting Military

We watched a movie last night called, 'Taking Chance'. It was a very moving film. I highly recommend it. It is about a Marine who volunteers to escort a fallen Marine's remains back home to his family in Wyoming. The respect and the honor showed to this Marine's remains is very moving. The fact that people put things on hold to show respect to a fallen Marine, who gave his life to protect ours, is something that leaves me overcome with emotion. After watching this film, I laid in bed, trying to go to sleep, but the thoughts running through my mind would not allow me to. As some may know, I've contemplated the idea of joining the service, most likely with the Air Force. I want to do something for my nation that I love so dearly. But the men who have paved the way before have left some very big shoes to fill. Part of the reason I want to join is to pay back all the men and women who have given so much, many their lives, to let me live in this land of Freedom. These are the real heros of the US. Those who gave all and feared nothing. The men who still live today, with the battle scares and the memories. Many would do it all again if they were asked to. I want to show them my respect and my honor. Heaven knows they are worthy of it. I can never show enough gratitude to these men and women, but I want them to know that I indeed am grateful for their sacrifices. Thank You so very much. I owe you my life.

Creative Writing: Holiness Unto the Lord

Temple

The House of the Lord

A warm flame burns inside me

When I think of those pioneers

Who built on faith and determination

My Ancestors

Temple

The House of the Lord

A place of peace and rest

Of gratitude and grace

Of safety and love

Temple

The House of the Lord

The purity of the white color

The holy silence

Temple

The House of the Lord

None can fathom

A Lord who created the galaxies

I call Him Father

Temple

The House of the Lord

Saving ordinances

That conquers Sin and Death

Temple

The House of the Lord

Holiness unto the Lord

Creative Writing: Wonderful Winter

Glistening, White Snow Sparkling in the Sun

Sweet Scent of Pine Fills the Air

Ice Crunching Beneath My Boots

Leaving Divots in the Snow

Clod Crisp Breeze on the back of My Neck

Cool Winter Air in My Face

Creative Writing: The Man in the Rain

He stands on the old ladder

High in the air

His torn, red flannel shirt

Soaked from the pounding rain

Hammer in hand

Ready to strike the stubborn nail

The rain pelting him

Beating down like angry hawks

Makes the ladder slick

He wipes his brow

And swings again

The hammer comes crashing down onto the nail.

Finally, it gives up and dives into the shingle

His family watches anxiously from the house below

Through the bay window he built

Thankful the leak is fixed
